Quei problemi io li ho risolti modificando alcuni parametri di xine e del relativo plugin in vdr, seguendo questa guida:

Ho copiato e riveduto alcuni parametri di xine, questo è il mio file di configurazione:
Ho poi settato nelle opzioni del plugin vdr-xine i buffers (SD, HD e audio) su 20 e a 4 il buffer hysteresis
Considera che ho un quadcore e, pertanto, ho settato su 4 i thread di ffmpeg.#

Il problema che hai tu è esattamente il motivo per cui ho lasciato xine-liboutput a favore di xine.
