ciao a tutti ho acquistato di recente l' hauppage hvr- 4000 installata con ubuntu 9.10 e vdr 1.7.9 la scheda viene riconosciuta solo che vdr mi dice sempre no signal non vorrei che all'avvio mi parte per primo il dvb-t che per ora non ho collegato e quindi mi da' questo problema ???????????????????????

guarda cosa ti dice dmesg, /var/log/user.log , vdr all' avvio..... un po' di output vario insomma e magari se e' troppo lungo postalo su pastebin.com

premesso che non ho la scheda in questione, quindi non ti parlo per esperienza personale.
se metti femon, cosa ti dice? su che canali ti manca il segnale? sei sicuro che la parabola funzioni? se provi a mettere un canale dvb-t il segnale c'e'? (anche con uno spezzone di filo, dovresti quanto meno veder muovere l' indicatore di segnale di femon, di cpoco vicino al minimo, ma sempre qualcosa e')

quindi sembra che li registri, ora, se ben ricordo (non vorrei sbagliarmi , e' che ho un' altro tuner che per ora non uso!) , il mio tuner sat, ha lo stesso chipset, e all' avvio carica il firmware, infatti in /lib/firmware mi ritrovo il file

Allora ti spiego.
Dai tuoi log la scheda parte correttamente, prima viene riconosciuta la sezione DVB-S e poi la DVB-T.
Il firmware viene caricato all'avvio di VDR.
Adesso arriva la parte fondamentale... VDR non gestisce le 2 sezioni di questa scheda, in pratica puoi utilizzare solo la sezione DVB-S.
Dalla versione di VDR 1.7.11 in poi VDR gestisce i multi frontend, cioè schede con più ingressi, ma non questa scheda.
Solo Kaffeine gestisce correttamente questa scheda, sia la parte DVB-S che la parte DVB-T.

ho provato anche kaffeine e' fuzionano tutti i tuner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ma avevo sbagliato la cartella firmware adesso funziona ho provato anche kaffeine e' fuzionano tutti i tuner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! vi terro' aggiornati!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

personalmente l' avevo valutata, e poi scartata, troppo cara, e limitata nel fatto che non puoi usare i due tuner in contemporanea, il bello della mia vdrbox, e' che mentre registro qualcosa sul dvb-t , mia figlia fa incetta di cartoni sul sat!!!!

Ho la stessa scheda e da un pò che tento di installare vdr 1.7.12 o 1.7.14 ............ Per l'installazione uso uno script reperibile in rete ....... a molti va a buon fine a me no a causa, credo, dei driver della scheda hauppauge hvr 4000 che ho anche io.
Non é che mi daresti qualche spiegazione su come hai fatto l'installazione ?
Ti preciso che io ho installato ubu 9.10 e provato con i kernel 2.6.28, 30, 31, 32, 33 sia con i driver che installa lo script (S2-liplianin) sia con quelli nativi del kernel, ovviamente installando sempre il firmware per hauppauge. Ho usato anche vdpau con driver nvidia per xine.
Alla fine é sempre no signal e se clicco sulla scheda dvb di xine dice che non c'è "device".
Spero mi puoi descrivere i passaggi che hai fatto.
