Played with a couple benchmarks today, and floating point performance is
indeed slightly worse on the Cubie than on the Pi.
Not only in nbench but also in the phoronix-test-suite audio encoding
benchmarks I ran under Ubuntu (on the Cubie) and Raspbian (on the Pi):

Think both camps should be a little bit more realistic about performance
figures.
Memory speed difference is definitely a lot more more then just a couple
percent.
But speed difference is not that big in practice to warrant the blunt
"the Pi is at least three times slower than the A10" claim on the front
page of rhombus-tech.net and other places either.
Eben does have a point there.
